Gordana is software for curtain shops and window-covering specialists in Belgium and the Netherlands. It brings quotes, fabrics, installation planning and customer records together in one system that runs in the browser. This guide is for shops where the team works in English — and it covers what is specific to curtain shops in these two countries, including what is not in English yet.
What Gordana does for a curtain shop
- Quotes with fullness and fabric usage worked out automatically for each curtain type you set up.
- PDF quotes in your own branding, sent to the customer by email from the system.
- A fabric catalogue with supplier prices, rolls and stock, priced per running metre or per m².
- Customer records with every quote and job in one history.
- Jobs with workflow statuses, an installation calendar and customer locations on a map.
- Teams with roles and access rights, at one price with no per-user fees.
You set up your own curtain types, each with its own fullness, pricing rules and fields, so the calculations follow the way your workroom already works. How fullness itself works is explained in the curtain fullness guide.
Which languages does it work in?
The app itself is fully available in English, Dutch and Turkish, and each person on the team picks their own language. What your customers see is partly Dutch for now: the quote PDF and the page where a customer accepts a quote online are in Dutch. The emails to your customers are templates you write yourself, so you can write those in whichever language your customers speak.
What is specific to Belgium and the Netherlands?
Quotes, fabrics, planning and customer records work the same in both countries. Where they differ:
| Topic | How Gordana handles it |
|---|---|
| Currency | Euros throughout. |
| VAT | 21% by default, the standard rate in both countries. You choose whether prices are shown including or excluding VAT. |
| Addresses | Address lookup covers Belgium and the Netherlands. |
| Phone numbers | Belgian (+32) and Dutch (+31) mobile numbers are recognised, including for text messages to customers. |
| Measuring up | Belgian shops say opmeten, Dutch shops inmeten. It is the same job, and Gordana handles it the same way. |
| Invoicing | An optional module that follows Belgian rules, with e-invoicing via Peppol and the Belgian structured payment reference. Quoting and planning do not depend on it. |
For the VAT rates themselves, see the Belgian FPS Finance and the Dutch Tax Administration (both in Dutch).
How much time does it save?
The gain is in the arithmetic you no longer do by hand. At a curtain shop in the province of Antwerp, the average time per quote fell from 45 to 8 minutes, measured over three months (read the customer story). Your own result depends on how you work today.
Getting started
- A short call on WhatsApp to talk through how your shop works.
- We set Gordana up together in one session of about an hour and a half: your curtain types, fullness ratios, fabrics and customer records.
- Most shops are fully up and running within one working day.
There is one flat subscription for every feature, with no per-user fees and no set-up costs, and you can cancel monthly. You hear the rate for your shop after a free demo — see pricing for what is included.
Frequently asked questions
Is Gordana available in English?
Yes. Every screen, menu and setting of the app is available in English, Dutch and Turkish, and each team member chooses their own language. The quote PDF and the page where a customer accepts a quote online are currently in Dutch. Customer emails are templates you write yourself, so those can be in any language.
Can I use Gordana outside Belgium and the Netherlands?
Gordana is built for those two countries: address lookup covers Belgium and the Netherlands, prices are in euros and the invoicing module follows Belgian rules. If your shop is somewhere else, get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether it is a good fit.
Does Gordana work on a phone?
Gordana is built for a laptop or desktop and also works well on a tablet, for example when you measure up at a customer's home. Phone screens are too small to work with comfortably.
Who builds Gordana?
Gordana is built by Melih Ozcan, founder and developer, in Belgium. Support and onboarding go directly through him, by WhatsApp or email.
